Starwalker, the duo of Air’s Jean-Benoît Dunckel and composer Bardi Johannsson, released their debut EP Losers Can Win earlier this year. They’re back today with the languid space jam “Blue Hawaii.” The pristine sonic molasses serves as a background for resigned reflections on life, fate, and free will. The band summed it up like so: “‘Blue Hawaii’ is a song that mixes perfectly the two suns of Starwalker into one galaxy. You want to change the world, but the world will change you.” So, very soothing music, but not a particularly soothing message! Listen below.
