School ’94 – “Like You”

Gothenburg quartet School '94 (FKA School) will release their debut EP Like You next month, and today they've shared the gorgeous title track. The song is a melancholy pop throwback that shoots for the rafters without ever approaching overkill. Its arrangement is dramatic yet immensely tasteful, with clean guitars, gleaming keyboards, and deeply melodic bass congealing into something like early R.E.M. covering Pat Benatar. Over top, Alice Botéus wails with a confidence comparable to Rosie Blair from fellow '80s revivalists Ballet School. Listen and enjoy below.

Like You is out 12/2 on Cascine/Luxury.
