Michael Rault – “Nothing Means Nothing” & “Still Not Sad”
Toronto pop-rock auteur Michael Rault has a new cassingle out, and both songs on the tape are streaming. “Nothing Means Nothing” rides a head-bobbing groove like something the Band might have jammed on, but it’s topped off by gleaming psychedelic harmonies and playful keyboard flourishes. “Still Not Sad” hits a little harder, with a ragtag rhythm akin to Pavement and a sprightly, melodious touch that reminds me of the Elephant 6 collective. Both songs are worth your time, so listen below.
“Nothing Means Nothing” b/w “Still Not Sad” is out now on Burger/Bad Actors. Order it here.
