Watch Metallica Play “For Whom The Bell Tolls” On The Late Late Show
Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show is nearing the end of its run, and Metallica are a couple of nights into their week-long residency on the show. They’ve already played “Hit The Lights” and “Fuel” on the show. And last night, they busted out one of their all-time best songs: “For Whom The Bell Tolls,” the immortal Ride The Lightning destroyer. The version they played on Ferguson’s show last night was slightly loose and sloppy, but that’s just how Metallica are live, and it added a bit of unpolished dudes-in-a-room-playing-together intensity to it. James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich also sat for an interview with Ferguson last night, though only the opening moments of it are on YouTube last night. Watch that, as well as the performance, below.
Now let’s all spend the morning listening to Ride The Lightning together.
