Stream Maxo’s Tribute To … Limp Bizkit?
Brooklyn-based producer Maxo is the first artist to contribute a mix to a new series put together by LOGO Magazine that lets artists “pay tribute to the people that have inspired him.” Maxo decided to pick Limp Bizkit for the project, which is admittedly a bit of a weird choice but he turns it into something pretty genius. It’s like nothing that you’d expect — he chops and screws the songs, pitch shifts most of the vocals, and incorporates a bunch of other stuff into the mix as well. He goes through bits of nine different Limp Bizkit songs and gives them clever food pun titles like “I Did It All For The Cookie” — which incorporates “Nookie” — and “Get Your Crouton” — a play on “Getcha Groove On.” The mix is accompanied by a cool illustration courtesy of Hannah Diamond. It’s a hell of a lot of fun. Listen below.
