Stream James Murphy & IBM’s Album Of Remixes Made With Tennis Data
Back in August, James Murphy teamed up with IBM to make an album based on U.S. Open tennis data. Murphy and co. built a kind of algorithm using IBM Software that takes tennis match data (serve speed, number of aces, and several other things that I don’t understand) and generates it into music cues, creating a real-time sound-score of each match. The result: a long album of bleep-heavy tracks that could very easily soundtrack a high school algebra test, or a very old video game.
