Oscar – “Daffodil Days”
Oscar Scheller spent all of last year getting us really excited about his slacker-pop tunes, and now the young London singer has started off the new year by sharing a new song and announcing that he’s now part of the Wichita Recordings family. “Daffodil Days” is another chipper, modest piece of pop that highlights Oscar’s alluring deep-throated voice. He told FADER that the song was written after an autocorrect mistake: “It all started out on one of those dark winter evenings, when everything felt wrong. I was having a pretty bad day and as I was texting a friend, the word ‘difficult’ turned to ‘daffodil’ by a stroke of autocorrect genius. It really made me laugh and somehow made a lot of a sense.” Listen below.
“Daffodil Days” is on a new 7-inch that will be out 3/1 via Wichita.
