Red Sea – “On The Marble”
I saw Red Sea for the first and only time back in December when they played a show at a covert venue in what some might refer to as “Deep Brooklyn” (which really just means that it wasn’t off the L line), and to be totally candid, it was the best show that I saw in 2014. I was in a basement guzzling overpriced ($4) shitty beer and I was loving it because Red Sea — along with their likeminded lineup company Big Neck Police and Palm — are some of the most exciting bands that I’ve heard in a really long time. “On The Marble” is a track off of Red Sea’s full-length In The Salon, which the band put out independently via Bandcamp last year, and will be re-released digitally and on cassette by Bayonet Records in March. The song writhes and splits into pieces before its scatter is reordered by an audibly apprehensive drum beat. Listen below.
