The L.A.-via-Texas duo Gal Pals make a sunny, harmonious form of garage rock, combining bash-it-out intensity with big and sweet hooks. They’ve got a warm, sunny style that evokes early Best Coast, and it’s hard to maintain a bad mode when their new album Velvet Rut is on.
