R.I.P. Friday Night Lights Movie And Movie Rumors
Ever since Friday Night Lights concluded its run on NBC with what was generally considered to be a fitting and timely end that tied the series up nicely, Internet rumors of a follow-up movie have been swirling. In 2012, Peter Berg announced that the script was nearly finished, and that only scheduling remained an issue. Connie Britton said that she had seen the whole story in 3×5 cards in Jason Katims’ office, and told him “I’d better have a good part in it!” Kyle Chandler said, “I have no interest in a Friday Night Lights movie.” It all seemed to be coming together! But would the movie ever transition from answers to interview questions that were phrased specifically to get a certain headline, no matter what the answer was, to a REAL MOVIE?! THAT WE COULD WATCH?! Uhh, well, ah…no! Nope! No, it’s dead now! Peter Berg recently spoke with Collider about it:
“There’s not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t; I’ve come to believe it’s probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it’s gonna happen.”
Wait a second…probably not a good idea? Seriously doubt it’s gonna happen? Sounds like this thing could happen after all! #FNLMovie2015 #Connie4Tami
