It Looks Like Tim Burton Might Direct Beetlejuice 2
Wait, Beetlejuice 2 is happening for real?! I thought that was like the Friends movie — something that everyone will be asked about on award show red carpets from now until the end of time, and something that will sometimes be written about on blogs to fill up the emptiness before it consumes us, but not something that TIM BURTON MIGHT ACTUALLY DIRECT. (“Might Tim Burton Direct The Friends Movie? Source Says Yes!”) From the Wrap:
Tim Burton’s involvement in “Beetlejuice 2″ is no longer a rumor, as he’s officially in talks to direct the sequel for Warner Bros., multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.
Michael Keaton is expected to reprise his role as the titular fast-talking, black-and-white stripe-wearing ghost with the most.
The Geffen Company, which produced the 1988 classic, will produce the sequel with Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions. Grahame-Smith, who penned the Burton-produced adaptation of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” wrote the script that Warner Bros. has confidence in.
Q: If you wake up in a world in which Tim Burton is probably going to direct a sequel to Beetlejuice 450 years after the original Beetlejuice was released, which will probably feature Michael Keaton reprising the titular role, do you get to go back to sleep? It’s an honest question and it deserves an honest and affirmative answer.
