Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Will Host The Golden Globes For The Next Two Years
Imagine the next two years in your life. What do you see? Are you getting a promotion at work, maybe? Finding your one true love? Breaking up with your one true love, whom you thought you’d marry, and losing the job out of which you thought you’d make a fine career? And now you’re finding yourself completely lost, getting older, and having very little to show for all of your years? Sure, you have the experience, and you’ve grown as a person, which counts for something, but right now it doesn’t feel that way? Well, relax and check out what’s happening on the TV because it looks like AMY POEHLER AND TINA FEY ARE HOSTING THE GOLDEN GLOBES FOR BOTH OF THOSE YEARS! From The Hollywood Reporter:
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return as hosts of the Golden Globes for the next two years, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. …
The two-year deal is a coup for the Globes because Fey and Poehler’s last stint as hosts generated positive reviews and 19.7 million total viewers, a six-year high. The show also generated a 6.4 rating in the coveted 18-49 demo, up 28 percent over the previous year.
“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business, and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” said NBC president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”
Finally, some sense out of Washington! (The government is in charge of picking Golden Globes hosts, yeah?) So glad that everyone could come together, reopen the Golden Globes, and raise the television’s ratings ceiling just in time. (Uggggh.) Good choice, boys. Ah, is there any Breaking News quite like Breaking Future Award Show News? I wouldn’t know, and I wouldn’t pay attention to it even if there were!
