Hollywood is for sure a mystery, but there are still some things that seem pretty predictable and straightforward about it. Anything that is already something will be made into a movie franchise, for one. If a movie does well, there will be more of that movie in one way or another, for two. If there is a comedy that needs a mom, Leslie Mann will be the mom in it. If Leslie Mann is not available, maybe Elizabeth Banks is available. Do you think Salma Hayek could also be a mom in the movie? Yeah, maybe Salma Hayek could be a mom in the movie. Cameron Diaz will also be a mom in the movie. Do you think we could get Maya Rudolph? It depends, but it’s definitely a possibility. What a I talking about? This is what I’m talking about, from the Huffington Post:

New Line Cinema has tapped Beth McCarthy-Miller (“Saturday Night Live”) to adapt “Queen Bee Moms And King Pin Dads: Dealing With The Parents, Teachers, Coaches, and Counselors Who Can Make — or Break — Your Child’s Future” — a book by Rosalind Wiseman, whose “Queen Bees and Wannabes” was the inspiration for the “Mean Girls” movie, Deadline reports.

The film adaptation of Wiseman’s 2006 book focuses on a mother who encounters some grown-up mean girls in the form of suburban moms. “Mean Moms” will be produced by Jill Messick with Offspring Entertainment, according to Deadline.

The bigger mystery here is: WHO WON’T BE IN MEAN MOMS?! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler? Do you think they’ll be in it, reprising their roles? If Maya Rudolph is in talks, maybe they’ll get in talks too. (I moonlight as a Hollywood executive.) I’m almost positive that Marina Abramovic will NOT be in Mean Moms. Vincent Gallo will probably not be in Mean Moms. Courtney Cox? Would she be in Mean Moms? If Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston were in Mean Moms together that would be a real slam dunk, same if Courtney Cox and Vincent Gallo were in there together (Get Well Soon reunion), but I’m not sure. Can we get a Michelle Obama cameo? I’m willing to make the call now that Barack Obama will NOT be in Mean Moms, but maybe Michelle. Kim Gordon will be in Mean Moms but Kim Deal will not. Busy Philipps may be in Mean Moms, but Linda Cardellini will not. I will not be in Mean Moms, but Gabe Delahaye is a possibility. Who else do you think won’t be in this movie? Probably Elisabeth Moss, right? She won’t be in it, but Jon Hamm DEFINITELY will be.
