The annual White House Correspondents' Dinner is a pretty wack affair, let's be honest. Every year, all of the journalists come together with all the celebrities and sit in a big ballroom listening to the president tell jokes, and listening to a comedian tell jokes. Every year? Every year. What about we are at war? ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE AT WAR. It's weird, I think we can all admit that it is weird. It's also a pretty powerful litmus test about how you feel about whoever is currently holding the office. If you like the current president, you might find the whole affair to be a little bit wack, but ultimately light-hearted and inoffensive. If you don't like the current president, it's a fucking shit show. Anyway, during last year's White House Correspondents' Dinner, Obama kept up the performance while being fully aware that that very same night, a team of highly-trained special forces were going to carry out a mission to assassinate Osama Bin Laden. This year, there were no secret paramilitary exercises weighing anyone down and we could finally, FINALLY get back to the JOKES. Thank goodness.

LADIES AND GERMS! Like I said, I am sure your personal reaction to this varies depending on your personal opinion of Barack Obama. I like him, so I find this to be quite fun and charming (while fully recognizing the wackness of the dinner itself, which I have pointed out, but which Obama did not invent and so he cannot truly be blamed for that part of it) but I bet someone else is watching this and choking to death on bile and misplaced outrage about, like, Benghazi or whatever.
You can also watch Conan O'Brien's keynote address, but again, I would only watch it if you like him and/or the subject matter.
