So in Taken (out 9/19), Liam Neeson plays a father whose daughter goes on vacation to Paris. She's on the phone with her dad when she sees her friend getting kidnapped from across the house. So Liam tells her to hide under the bed and then says "The next part is very important. They are going to take you." and then gives this speech to the kidnappers (described as a tour de force) where he's all "I have no ransom money but I will hunt you down with my crazy skills"? This does not make sense:

If you read about the movie, you find out that Neeson is a spy. But that's not apparent here, where it just seems like he was a normal dad with an inexplicably well-rehearsed badass speech to use in the event his daughter ever got kidnapped. Which is kind of a funny idea if it was a comedy and a big crazy mixup. I guess we'll have to see the movie to figure it all out.
