Hear Pharrell & Scott Weiland’s Previously Unreleased “Happy”
Before the mega-hit “Happy” or the 2008 N.E.R.D. track of the same name, Pharrell Williams worked on a third track called “Happy,” this one with former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland. It was recorded in 2006 for Weiland’s sophomore solo album, but it was shelved after Williams claimed the track for himself. Vestiges of the track still remained, however: Weiland’s album was called “Happy” In Galoshes, an apparent nod to the track that never made it on the album, and it showed up on a promo CD that was sent out before the album’s official release. That’s where this version of the song comes from, which surfaced on the comments section of Weiland’s PledgeMusic campaign for a new album. Listen to the unreleased track below.
