Preview Fennesz & OZmotic’s AirEffect
Experimental beauty-conjurer Christian Fennesz released Bécs, his last album, less than a year ago, and he’s already about to drop a new project on us. On the new album AirEffect, he teams up with OZmotic, an instrumental duo from Turin, Italy. The 55-minute record is a conceptual affair that imagines the world after humans. Here’s how a press release describes the central idea: “The discovery of a ‘black box’ lost in the Anthropocene era brings back to life extinct sounds, images of places in the middle of nowhere, voices of daily life, and excerpts of conversations… The post-modern human kind is laid bare by apparently disconnected flashbacks which reveal the inappropriateness of a technologically advanced human species, yet one unable to live with itself and with the world hosting it.” Below, listen to a 13-minute preview of the album’s music.

AirEffect is out in June on Folk Wisdom.
