Jay Z previously said that Jack White’s Third Man Records would be releasing his 2013 record Magna Carta Holy Grail on vinyl. Then nothing happened for about two years, and most of us forgot about it. Apparently, those two years were well spent prepping the limited edition box set, which is limited to 1,000 hand-numbered clothbound binders that house eight 7″ discs, scratch-off lyrics, mirrored pages to decode reverse-printed lyrics, and much more. Brian Roettinger, who designed the Magna Carta cover art, designed the entire box set concept, and you can watch a video detailing the entire box set below. The concept is loosely based on the idea of redacted government documents.

Magna Carta Holy Grail will be out in its vinyl edition on 3/20 via Third Man. The release date will coincide with an expansion of Third Man’s first physical location in Nashville. There will also be celebratory champagne for those of age. Cue up your “Picasso Baby” lyrical references accordingly.
