Stream Waxahatchee Ivy Tripp
When Katie Crutchfield went from solo-acoustic to full-band on 2013’s Cerulean Salt, her second LP as Waxahatchee, she made one of 2013’s best albums. On her new album Ivy Tripp, Crutchfield continues to stretch her sound out further, adding all sorts of new recording techniques while still keeping her style simple and bold and plainspoken. Ivy Tripp is a warm, emotional, crushingly melodic album, and it does things to your heart that indie rock albums rarely even try to do anymore. We’ve posted the early songs “Air” and “Under A Rock,” and now you can, and should, stream the whole album at NPR.
Ivy Tripp is out 4/17 on Merge.
