Haleek Maul – “Kingdom Come”
Haleek Maul teams with producer Shy Guy again — along with D.K.A.D — for another cut that’s presumably on his forthcoming project Prince Midas. On “Kingdom Come” the Barbadian bends his exultant, piercing flow in praise of eternal partying. But there’s some hesitation here: “It’s been so long since I heard my own thoughts,” goes the chorus closing line, implying that a 24/7 hedonism has some drawbacks after all. The production here is a roiling clink of TNGHT-esque booming brass and beat moments, and slanting, AutoTuned backing vocals frame the 18-year-old’s rapping. Listen below.
Prince Midas will be out in April.
