Lull – “Bubble Tea” (Stereogum Premiere)
London quartet Lull formed just last year, but you wouldn’t know it to hear them. They’ve already settled into a dense, churning shoegaze sound in which guitars squeal and heave and dreamy vocals glide like butter in a frying pan. The band is set to drop their self-titled North American EP in June, and we’ve got the first taste of it right here: “Bubble Tea,” a five-minute swim in deep pools of brilliant noise. The My Bloody Valentine comparisons are there, sure, but c’mon — give it a spin for yourself and see what original images your mind conjures up. Listen below.
