Shit Robot – “Where It’s At” (Feat. Reggie Watts)
The producer and DFA Records mainstay Marcus Lambkin, who records under the delightful moniker Shit Roobt, makes a ferociously low-tech and propulsive form of old-school house music. His new single “Where It’s At,” which has nothing to do with Beck, is a total banger. It has a vocal from the singing and beatboxing comedian Reggie Watts, who is now the bandleader at The Late Late Show. He makes himself sound something like Vincent Price on “Thriller,” and I think we can all agree that this was a great decision. The former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy mixed it. The track just moves, and you can hear it below.
