Eternal Summers – “Come Alive”
Virginia dream-pop trio Eternal Summers know the power of their name. They never lose sight of the horizon-wavering, shimmering heat that their moniker evokes, making sunny pop with just an edge of intensity to it. “Come Alive” is insistent and rubbery pop, following up their previous single, the misty “Together Or Alone.” At times, “Come Alive” sounds like it’s veering toward the angst of, say, an early Shins song, but vocalist Nicole Yun steers it back on course with her light-as-air soprano. This is sticky-sweet indie pop packed with wanderlust. Listen.
Gold And Stone is out 6/2 via Kanine Records.
