Azealia Banks’ Next Album Is Called Business & Pleasure
Azealia Banks’ much-delayed but surprisingly very good debut Broke With Expensive Taste finally came out last year, and it looks like the rapper has already made a lot of headway on its followup. As Pitchfork points out, Banks told NME in a new interview that her sophomore record will be called Business & Pleasure, and that it’s halfway done and scheduled for release next year. I’d take the timetable with a grain of salt, considering that her first album was supposed to come out in 2012, but maybe without all of the record label complications she went through, she can deliver on time. But the title is probably a lock: Banks announced the name Broke With Expensive Taste two-and-a-half years before it would end up being released and it stuck. Either way, I’m sure we’ll hear more from Banks before the year is out.
