50 Cent – “Get Low” (Feat. Jeremih, T.I. & 2 Chainz)
50 Cent was probably the most popular rapper in the world a decade ago, and his swift and extreme decline from stardom has been one of the strangest things I’ve witnessed in my time as a music critic. On his new single “Get Low,” 50 at least seems to be trying to do something about that. He’s brought in Atlanta rap kings 2 Chainz and T.I., as well as Chicago R&B king Jeremih, for a horny posse cut. But the song has a leaden, uninspired beat, and 50 elects to sing his voice through 2009 levels of Auto-Tune, allowing 2 Chainz and T.I. to upstage him completely. I don’t think this song is going to be the answer to 50’s woes, but it has a pretty fun 2 Chainz verse, anyway. Listen to it below.

I have distinct memories of T.I. bringing Jay-Z and Kanye West onstage at Madison Square Garden in 2007-ish and 50 just deciding to jump up there as well. If memory serves, T.I. was pretty annoyed.
