KINS – “Little Dancer”
I’m not a huge fan of describing music as “epic.” It feels like a vague cop-out. But with KINS’ almost nine-minute new single “Little Dancer,” it’s the only word that seems to fit. KINS often get pegged as something “for fans of Alt-J,” but I don’t hear it. Comparing Thomas Savage’s nasally vocal drags to Alt-J’s Joe Newman’s is fair, but where Alt-J are flippant and nonsensical, KINS are cunningly brash. “Little Dancer” is the second single off the London quartet’s EP Cyclical, which drops in less than a month. It’s beautiful, epic (sigh), and has an Explosions In The Sky-like outro. Listen.
