Alison Mosshart Opens First Solo Art Exhibition
Yesterday, beloved front woman of the Dead Weather and the Kills, Alison Mosshart, opened her first solo art exhibition, Fire Power, at the Joseph Gross Gallery in Manhattan. Mosshart’s work has previously been featured in ArtNowNY’s group exhibition, Push It, in 2014. Fire Power includes 127 pieces including paintings, drawings, mixed media, and tapestries that “reflect Mosshart’s life on the road.” Pieces include portraits, works on Persian carpets, and “tire track” abstract pieces. Usually creating her art while on tour, Mosshart has only recently settled into a studio space, giving her room to make larger pieces. Mosshart has no formal artistic training; she describes her process as quick and passionate. The exhibit runs 6/18-7/11. Check out her work here.
