Watch Damon Albarn Cover The Clash And Get Carried Offstage At Roskilde
Denmark’s Roskilde Festival ended this past weekend, and concertgoers who made it to the Africa Express supergroup set were treated with a very special performance by Damon Albarn. The Blur and Gorillaz frontman played a 5-hour set that came to an abrupt conclusion when a security officer told Albarn that his time was up. Albarn then asked the audience to continue cheering so his set could go on, before Africa Express stage manager Dave Prentice lifted him up and carried him off the stage. This all happened around 4AM, after Albarn performed a cover of the Clash’s “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” and some of his own work alongside various other Africa Express collaborators, including Gorillaz’ “Clint Eastwood.” Below, watch videos from the performance and a clip of Albarn getting carried off-stage.
