Slipknot Frontman Has A Message For Kanye West
One of Kanye West’s many self-designations is “The #1 Rock Star On The Planet,” a title he claimed for himself during his much-circulated Zane Lowe interview in 2013 and reiterated last weekend at Glastonbury. Specifically, he told the festival crowd, “You are now watching the greatest living rock star on the planet,” then repeated that sentiment ad nauseam. His message didn’t sit well with everyone, as is the norm where Kanye is concerned. One such person is Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, who recorded the following video message for Music Choice to dispute Kanye’s assertion. Taylor’s thesis: If you have to say you’re the best, you’re probably not the best. Watch below and see if you agree.
In other Kanye news, Complex points out that a Reddit user claims to have recorded Kanye’s entire new album SWISH during a listening party. The audio, which has been removed from Reddit but is available with a quick Twitter search, is the lowest of low quality — like, imagine the sound of a pocket dial, yet somehow three football fields away. Notably, it does not include the Sia and Vic Mensa collab “Wolves,” previously touted as the album opener, but it does have the rumored Paul McCartney duet “Piss On Your Grave.” Now, this might not be the final version of the album, and it might not even be real, but hopefully it results in a version of SWISH you can actually hear making its way into the world soon.
