Chelsea Wolfe – “After The Fall”
Goth queen Chelsea Wolfe has a new album out next month, and we’ve already heard two massive, torrential songs, “Iron Moon” and “Carrion Flowers.” At first blush, new track “After The Fall” seems to be something softer, beginning with a distant thump and doleful vocal echoes that suggest — as much of her music does — swirling mists in a dark, haunted cemetery. But everything builds up until an enormous tidal wave of dread-filled noise suddenly engulfs your ears, and you realize that not only is the cemetery haunted, but there are actually fucking monsters right behind you at this very second. Chelsea Wolfe does this sort of thing like no one else can, and you should absolutely listen below.
Abyss is out 8/7 on Sargent House.
