Slow And Steady – “Pendulum” (Feat. Bandit’s Angela Plake) (Stereogum Premiere)
An innocent creep sesh on Jacob Lawter’s Twitter shows the man behind Austin emo band Slow And Steady has been listening to a lot of Sufjan Stevens, Mansions, and Brand New lately. Which makes sense because “Pendulum,” a track from Slow And Steady’s debut album In Time We Belong, draws from all three of those spheres, weighing most heavily on the last. “Pendulum” features Angela Plake, the vocalist of Nashville’s Bandit, whose album Of Life we premiered earlier this year. Plake’s vocals add a softness to the otherwise gut-wrenching song. Listen.
In Time We Belong is out 8/14 on Broken Circles. Pre-order it here.
