Sinead O’Connor Says Music Has Officially Died Because Of Kim Kardashian
Sinead O’Connor has joined the chorus of Kim Kardashian haters, and done so with a bang. In a scathing Facebook post, O’Connor declared that music itself has been killed, thanks to Kardashian’s recent Rolling Stone cover.
Here’s her mini-screed:
What is this cunt doing on the cover of Rolling Stone ? Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be fucking horrified. #BoycottRollingStone
While many may discredit Simon Cowell for masterminding American Idol and One Direction, I happen to love both of those things dearly. I think they made music better. As for Bob Dylan, we all know how he feels about the juxtaposition of cleavage, lingerie, and his music. I’d be willing to bet good money that Bob Dylan likes Kim Kardashian — he’s always been against arrogant, self-righteous naysayers like O’Connor.
Between this and her ridiculous feud with Miley Cyrus in 2013, it seems pretty clear that O’Connor is struggling beyond your run-of-the-mill annoyance with pop culture. But that doesn’t mean you can blame another woman for the demise of music and label her the “C” word when you have the kind of huge platform O’Connor does. It’s disgusting and petty. Furthermore, profiling the very famous wife of a very famous musician has no effect on the state of music itself, and is, in actuality, good journalism. Why isn’t O’Connor pissed that Rolling Stone is still hiring Terry Richardson? Personally, I can’t wait for the Khloe Kardashian subtweets to roll in.
