AC/DC Drummer Back In Jail
Less than two weeks after being sentenced to eight months of home detention for pleading guilty to drug possession and threatening to kill, former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been imprisoned again. As the BBC reports, Rudd’s lawyer Craig Tuck has confirmed that the 61-year-old has been arrested again and will appear in court on Monday: “All I can say is he has been arrested and will be appearing on Monday at 10:00 (22:00 GMT Sunday) in the Tauranga District Court,” Mr Tuck told the AFP news agency. “That’s all I can say for now and that’s all I am telling everyone who is calling.” During sentencing, the judge warned Rudd that he would go back to jail if he violated the terms of his sentence, which included 24-hour electronic monitoring and a ban on any non-prescription drugs: “I stone cold guarantee that’s where you’ll end up…The temptations of the rock star lifestyle have caused your downfall here.”
UPDATE: The New Zealand Herald reports that Rudd broke the terms of his home detention by possessing and consuming alcohol, and that he flipped his middle finger at the media gathered at Tauranga District Court after his hearing.
