Watch Migos Perform “Hannah Montana” and “Handsome And Wealthy” With A Symphony Orchestra
Audiomack commissioned a nine-piece classical orchestra to perform a “trap symphony” featuring none other than Atlanta’s Migos. Quavo and Takeoff performed “Hannah Montana” without Offset, who is currently being held in Bulloch County Jail in Georgia, facing additional charges after the trio was arrested in April for felony drug possession. Migos told The Fader about the myriad sources of inspiration behind their song compositions, asserting that the classical remix wasn’t that much of a jump from the song’s original production:
This was a dope concept… We been influenced by all different types of music. People think of Migos and think of one type of music, but we gonna do it all.
The most heartening part of this video is the intro, when all of the classically trained musicians are asked whether or not they’ve ever heard of Migos. Most of them haven’t. Migos will release their debut album, Yung Rich Nation, next week. Watch them perform “Hannah Montana” to an orchestral arrangement below.
UPDATE 7/28: Here’s footage of “Handsome And Wealthy” from the same session.
Yung Rich Nation is out 7/31 via Atlantic.
