Moving away from his Nashville country roots, Winston Yellen, who records as Night Beds, is now taking on the electronic scene. He’s brought back the strings that were so missing from his other digitalized singles “Tide Teeth” and “Me Liquor & God” for his new song “Finished,” which arrives today with news of a new album called Ivywild. The song is ethereal and experimental; Yellen uses Auto-Tuned R&B vocals and wavering electronic sounds, punctuated by classical piano and violin and sampling from Molly Drake. It’s hard to place since there isn’t one cohesive sound, so listen and process it for yourself.
