This week I was reflecting on how California-based label/conglomerate B3SCI is on a hot streak, then today they lit that streak on fire. They’re putting out UK throwback duo Fine Print’s self-titled EP, which features the fantastic, jazzy electro-pop song “Can’t Lie.” It’s a phenomenal song to end the week on, full of analogue scratch and fuzz, playful brass, and thick, velvety vocals. This recent rash of electronic infused nü-R&B owes so much to Thundercat, Dev Hynes, and the Weeknd, but even while channeling these influences, Fine Print manage to distance themselves from the pack.
