Stream Mac DeMarco’s Another One And Read His Track-By-Track Commentary
We’ve pretty much already heard every track from Mac DeMarco’s upcoming new mini-album, Another One, whether because he’s already officially put out over half of the eight songs featured, or because it’s been “out there” for a long while. So, though it may seem a little anti-climactic, the whole thing is now officially streaming over at NPR, and indie rock’s preeminent goofball has shared a track-by-track commentary on the record as well. He writes a few paragraphs for each of the songs, detailing what he was going through when he wrote each one and providing some insight into the whole process. Some choice facts: The title track is his favorite song on the record, he has a newfound appreciation for the Grateful Dead, and “I’ve Been Waiting For Her” almost didn’t make the album. You can stream Another One and read DeMarco’s commentary here, plus check out The Dude Abides, our recent feature on him.
Another One is out 8/7 via Captured Tracks.
