John Mayer Joining The Grateful Dead For Dead & Company Tour
As it turns out, the Grateful Dead aren’t so dead after all. The surviving members of the band just played a massive run of five “Fare Thee Well” shows in Chicago last month, with Phish’s Trey Anastasio standing in for the late Jerry Garcia. But as rumored, they’re coming back, and they’re coming back with John Mayer. Billboard reports that the Dead and Mayer are planning a tour that will start with a Halloween show at Madison Square Garden. Bob Weir tells the magazine, “Those songs weren’t done with us. It was a matter of who wanted to get back out on the road and keep doing it.” Below, watch Weir and Mayer playing “Truckin'” on The Late Late Show earlier this year.
Shout out to everyone who paid crazy StubHub prices for Fare Thee Well tickets.
