Monogold – “Orchard Beach”
It’s Friday afternoon, you just want to chill, and immersing yourself in the Dre’s-bicep-thick Compton is proving to be a more challenging experience than expected. Why not kick back instead with “Orchard Beach,” a breezy falsetto ballad by Brooklyn combo Monogold from their upcoming album Good Heavens? The song is as chill as they come, floating through the same headspace as Real Estate and Pure X. You won’t regret letting it drift into your consciousness, which you can do below via an autumnal lyric video the band shot on a GoPro last fall.
Good Heavens is out 9/25. Monogold’s Michael Falotico, incidentally, is featured in Vanity Fair’s story about Tinder and hookup culture.
