In a couple of weeks, Aphex Twin will follow up Syro, his triumphant 2014 comeback album, with Orphaned Deejay Selek (2006-2008), a new collection released under his AFX pseudonym. We’ve already heard first single “oberheim blacet1b,” and now he’s shared two more new songs, as Pitchfork points out. “Simple slamming b 2″ is a fast, physical track that could almost function as traditional dance music, though its disorienting and off-kilter bass-wobbles might demolish any chance of that. And “midi pipe1c sds3time cube/klonedrm” is a brief piece of blippy circus music” that never quite spins off into a regular Aphex-style jitterbomb.
