Disappears Releasing Live Album Covering David Bowie’s Low
The Chicago-based, krautrock-informed band Disappears did an unthinkable thing: They covered David Bowie’s Low in its entirety and will release the recording as a live album this fall. The album, which was released in 1977, is widely considered one of Bowie’s absolute best, and landed second only to The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust on our Worst To Best list. Low is seminal, so it’s more than a little audacious to cover it front to back. But Disappears played all of the songs on this cover album live in Chicago, which makes it more of a spontaneous experiment. Watch a video of Disappears performing “Breaking Glass” below.
Low: Live In Chicago is out 11/20 via Sonic Cathedral.
