Taylor Swift Shares Excited Statement About Ryan Adams’ 1989 Covers Album
We already knew that Taylor Swift was more than stoked when she heard that Ryan Adams would be covering every single song off of last year’s impeccable pop album, 1989, because she tweeted about it with the kind of breathless enthusiasm that makes Swifties beam (and her haters cringe)…
@TheRyanAdams Cool I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday. I'M CALM

… But today, Swift has shared an official statement with Entertainment Weekly about her excitement over the covers album, explaining that Adams has always been a huge influence behind her songwriting:
Ryan Adams is one of the artists who shaped my songwriting. My favorite part of his style of creating music is his ability to bleed aching vulnerability into it, and that’s what he’s done with his cover project of my album 1989. When I first heard that Ryan was going to be covering my entire album, I couldn’t believe it. It’s such an honor that he would want to take my stories and lyrics and give them a new life. He’s gotten some of the best musicians together to record this album and if the clips he’s released are any indication, this is going to be something really special.
We’ve already heard previews of some of Adams’ covers, including clips from “Out Of The Woods,” “Bad Blood,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Style,” “Blank Space,” and “Shake It Off.” Adams still hasn’t announced an official release date, but it seems like he’s churning out these reworkings quickly enough that it could be very, very soon.
