Ever since Oasis came into the game, Noel Gallagher has been working some version of the same basic sound: A muscular, swaggering working-class-anthem take on the Beatles, with some light Stone Roses-esque psychedelia thrown in. There have been some deviations from that sound, but nothing too radical. So it's a bit of a shock that the B-side to Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' latest single "Lock All The Doors" pushes things in a different direction. On this one, entitled "Here's A Candle (For Your Birthday Cake)," Gallagher tries his hand at twangy, rambling country-rock. He also plays what sounds like a kazoo solo. It's weird. Listen below.
