The last we heard from Black Lips was in 2014, when the band released their full-length album Underneath The Rainbow. Today, they’ve announced that they will put out a split 7″ alongside fellow Atlanta band the Coathangers this coming November on Suicide Squeeze Records and will be available in a limited pressing of 1,000. “Freedom Fries” is the Black Lips’ contribution, and the Coathangers’ song is titled “Watch Your Back.” The narrator of this single works for minimum wage flipping burgers, questioning why the hell anyone thought it appropriate to rename them “freedom fries” when those making them are slaves to a crummy economy.
