The Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde has been making headlines lately for some particularly tone-deaf comments that blame rape victims for their assaults. The comments initially sprang from her sharing the story of her own assault in new memoir Reckless: My Life As A Pretender. Hynde continued to stumble through the ordeal by giving a weird “I haven’t really thought about it” answer to critics, and effectively doubling down on her stance. Luckily, someone got her to change the subject when she appeared on Conan.
