Hazel English, an Australian singer based in Oakland, crossed our radar this summer when she released her song “It’s Not Real.” Today, she follows that one up with a new song called “Fix.” It’s a hazy, jangly piece of old-school indie-pop, recorded with the exact right amount of reverb — enough to give it that autumnal glow, not so much that it starts to smother the song. We still don’t know if or when English plans to release anything, but this does not sound like the work of someone who’s doing this music thing as a hobby.
