Courtney Barnett Playing Australian Tribute To Patti Smith’s Horses
Patti Smith’s seminal punk rock debut, Horses, turns 40 years old in December. In celebration of that album’s legacy, the great Australian rocker Courtney Barnett is teaming up with fellow Aussies Jen Cloher, Adalita of Magic Dirt, and the Drones’ Garth Liddiard to perform Horses in its entirety for two concerts. “I am really excited to perform Patti Smith’s Horses with three Australian songwriting & musical heroes of mine,” Barnett said in a post on Tumblr. Both shows are happening at the Melbourne Town Hall on 10/18 — there’s a sold out show at 8PM and another just-announced show at 5PM — and you can purchase tickets here.
