The previous electronic work from Austrian producer salute has mostly lingered within the space of smoky, R&B-like instrumentals. “Colourblind” finds the 19-year-old beatmaker opening the door to vocal collaborations, in this case with Awful Records associate ABRA. The track’s dynamic pace gives the impression of a storyline — something with a clear beginning, middle and end. It starts off slow and simple, with ABRA’s voice dancing pirouettes around changing beats, then builds to the climactic refrain “Do you want to go get high with me?/ Do you want to go down baby?” The last time we heard ABRA, she was rapping in a rendition of Netflix-and-chill with Awful labelmate Father, but in this track, she confidently demonstrates her singing abilities.
