Watch Billy Joel Lead The Mets To World Series Game 3 Win
Billy Joel sang the National Anthem at Game 2 of the 1986 World Series, when the New York Mets were facing the Boston Red Sox, and the New York native returned last night to open the first World Series game in Citi Field history. This season, the Mets have started a tradition of playing Joel’s classic “Piano Man” as an 8th-inning crowd sing-along, and this time, the real Piano Man himself was there to witness it and join in. Billy Joel was trending on Twitter last night, and his presence seemed to be a good luck charm for his team, leading them to a 9-3 Game 3 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Watch his rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” and the “Piano Man” sing-along below.
