Nearly 500 People Arrested At California Electronic Music Festivals This Weekend
Almost 500 people were arrested over the weekend at two separate electronic music festivals in California, according to The Los Angeles Times. The two festivals in question were HARD Day Of The Deal (in Pomona), where a total of 310 people were arrested during the two-day festival, and Escape: Psycho Circus (in San Bernadino), where around 180 people were arrested. According to a police statement, most of the charges were for public intoxication, illegal drug possession, being under the influence of a controlled substance, or carrying fake identification.
The arrests come on the heels of a crackdown on EDM festivals in the area after two under-21-year-olds died at a HARD Summer rave in August at the same location in Pomona. Both HARD events were put on by Live Nation Entertainment, and Escape: Psycho Circus is run by Insomniac, a subsidiary of Live Nation.
Skrillex, Deadmau5, Hot Chip, Flying Lotus, Future, A$AP Ferg, and more played HARD, while the lineup at Psycho Circus was made up of EDM DJs I barely recognize.
